PE/PP hot-wrapped tape corrosion protection is applied after surface sandblasting (shot blasting), by coating the treated surface with epoxy primer or spraying FBE. After passing inspection, the pipe is manually heated and wrapped with PE/PP tape for corrosion protection. Generally, PE/PP tape requires a 50% overlap. The corresponding width and thickness of the PE/PP tape are selected according to the coating thickness and requirements. (PE cold-wrapped tape corrosion protection does not require heating.)
This type of corrosion protection is generally produced manually, resulting in relatively low production efficiency.
It is generally used for small-batch steel pipes that cannot be completed on a production line, as well as related irregularly shaped pipe fittings, such as elbows, tees, reducers, and pipe caps.
