Fasteners are relatively common components in mechanical equipment and play a crucial role. However, corrosion of fasteners during use is also a common form of damage. To prevent corrosion during use, surface anti-corrosion treatment is essential.
There are various methods of surface anti-corrosion treatment, such as painting, cold galvanizing, and alloy catalytic solution treatment. Among these methods, the level of corrosion resistance varies depending on the manufacturing process. Next, we will introduce the process steps and features of painting, cold galvanizing, and alloy catalytic solution treatment in sequence.
1. Painting
Process: The surface is first pretreated by degreasing, pickling, phosphating, and passivation, or by using a shot blasting machine for surface residue and rust removal. One coat of anti-rust primer is then applied, followed by a finish coat for surface protection.
Features: Uniform and consistent color; substantial appearance; excellent corrosion resistance. However, non-professional manufacturers often focus only on winning bids with low prices and may skip phosphating or shot-blasting pretreatment, applying paint directly instead. This results in a short corrosion protection period and poor performance. Alternatively, they may use inferior paint produced by small factories to reduce costs. Harmful substances are difficult to disperse for a period of time, resulting in odors within a certain period.
